Our Mission

The mission of the Homeless Coalition of Northeast Alabama is to connect, collaborate, and coordinate the delivery of housing and supportive services so that homelessness is brief, rare, and non-recurring across Calhoun, Cherokee, DeKalb, and Etowah counties. Serving as the federally recognized Continuum of Care (CoC) for this four-county region, the Coalition brings together local governments, nonprofit organizations, housing providers, service agencies, healthcare partners, faith-based groups, and community stakeholders to build a unified, data-driven response to homelessness.

Through coordinated planning, shared resources, and regional partnerships, the Homeless Coalition of Northeast Alabama works to expand access to emergency shelter, transitional and permanent housing, street outreach, prevention assistance, and supportive services that help individuals and families regain stability and long-term housing. Our member organizations collectively provide a comprehensive network of programs designed not only to respond to immediate housing crises, but also to address the underlying causes of homelessness and strengthen pathways toward self-sufficiency and community reintegration.
