Non-Discrimination Statement & Policy
United Way of East Central Alabama fights for the health, education, and financial stability of every person in our communities.
United Way of East Central Alabama (UWECA) recognizes that racism and discrimination undermine the well-being and vitality of our community. We fully believe that we are all stronger and better when we work together for the greater good of all people and communities. We welcome the engagement of all community members, including those whose voices have traditionally been marginalized. We work with residents and public and private partners to co-create solutions that ensure everyone has the resources, support, and opportunities they need to thrive.
Below is United Way of East Central Alabama’s (UWECA) Non-Discrimination Statement of Principle, as well as UWECA’s Anti-Discrimination Policy which outlines our commitment to building sustainable and resilient organizations and communities.
Non-Discrimination Statement of Principle

We welcome that every person brings a unique perspective and experience to advance our mission and progress our fight for the health, education, and financial stability of every person in our communities.
We believe that each United Way community member, donor, volunteer, advocate, and employee can help us solve community problems.
We strive to include non-discrimination practices, including anti-racism practices, at the center of our daily work.
We commit to using these practices for our business and our communities.
We invite you to join us in our work to improve lives and make lasting change for every person in our communities.
