Through initiatives focused on homelessness care and prevention, crisis hotline and support, emergency and wrap-around services, financial literacy and economic mobility, and disaster relief and recovery, we strive to create a stronger, more resilient community. By addressing urgent needs today, we are helping build a foundation for long-term stability and a brighter future for all.

2-1-1

Every day, local residents turn to 2-1-1 for vital information and support—whether for financial assistance, domestic needs, health services, or disaster relief. 2-1-1 is a free, confidential referral and information helpline and website that connects people of all ages and backgrounds to essential health and human services 24/7.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program provides free tax preparation & filing for low to moderate-income households in Calhoun County. The initiative supports financial stability and maximizes tax refunds for hard-working individuals.

Martha Vandervoort Center to End Homelessness

Martha’s Hope was founded to meet this urgent need by providing low-barrier emergency shelter, transitional housing, and holistic wraparound services. Through the guidance of Empowerment Coaches, we take a comprehensive approach to homelessness—helping individuals not only find shelter but also build a path toward stability and independence.

Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD)

Voluntary Organizations Active in Disasters, more commonly known as a VOAD, is a coalition to rally volunteer organizations and local groups (private or public) together. The mission of VOAD is to foster more effective service to people affected by disaster through cooperation in mitigation and response and avoidance of duplication of effort.
