The United Way of East Central Alabama has received a grant from the Anniston Community Education Foundation to assist with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. The $2,000 grant helps ensure that children ages 0 to 5 living in the impacted area of Anniston will continue receiving a free age-appropiate book each month mailed directly to their home.
As one of United Way's community initiatives, Imagination Library focuses on early learning and helps promote school readiness. Through a partnership with the Dollywood Foundation, United Way offers this program to all children ages 0 to 5 living in Calhoun County.
The Anniston Community Education Foundation is dedicated to helping students in the impacted area of Anniston succeed in the educational arena. The organization's mission includes assisting in the process of improving the quality of education for children in the impacted community.
